Mr. Scott serves as Director of Government Affairs and External Relations. He has 30 years of professional experience through various roles focused on policy and communications related to national service, volunteering, and civic engagement. For the past 24 years, Mr. Scott served at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency for service and volunteering that administers AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and other programs. At CNCS, he has served as Senior Advisor to the CEO, State Commission Liaison, Director of Public Affairs, Director of Government Relations, Press Secretary, and Speechwriter. Previously, Mr. Scott worked for seven years on Capitol Hill as a professional staff member of the House Interior Committee and as a legislative assistant for a Member of Congress from Minnesota. He has a history of working across political lines to develop public policy and achieve results through government relations, media, partnerships, coalitions, and events. Additionally, he has done nonprofit work in Texas and California. Mr. Scott graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government with a master’s degree in Public Administration.
