Keri M. Lowry
Director of Government Affairs & Public Engagement
Ms. Lowry serves as the Director of Government Affairs & Public Engagement. Prior to the Commission, she served as the lead executive consultant at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) where she developed and began implementing USAID's private sector engagement strategy on humanitarian assistance, disaster response, preparedness, and resiliency. Previously, Ms. Lowry was the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Private Sector Exchange at the U.S. Department of State; Regional Director for Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa at the U.S. Peace Corps; Senior Policy Advisor at USAID; Director for Development, Democracy & Humanitarian Affairs at the National Security Council; Deputy Executive Secretary at the National Security Council; and, has held numerous other positions at USAID including Senior Advisor to the Administrator, Conflict Mitigation and Management Specialist, Democracy and Governance Advisor, and Embassy Liaison Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Prior to her career in the U.S. government, Ms. Lowry managed an international exchange program at a nongovernmental organization, was an after-school teacher at a homeless shelter, and spent nearly three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso teaching high school math and science and directing a national girls’ empowerment program.
