Join the Military, Veterans, and Society Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service to discuss how national mobilization can support the United States in a pandemic or post-pandemic world. This webinar will take place on May 21, 2020 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. The event will be held as a CNAS webinar.
Discussion will examine how strengthened pathways to service, a national mobilization pipeline, and other recommendations gleaned from the Commission's final report, Inspired to Serve, could have better supported the United States in the COVID-19 pandemic and could prepare the United States to address future uncertainties. Furthermore, this panel will discuss how national mobilization could provide front line response teams, access to highly skilled individuals, and strengthened U.S. national security.
Kayla Williams, Director of CNAS' Military, Veterans, and Society program will moderate a discussion with Dr. Janine Davidson, Commissioner for the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service; Jason Dempsey, CNAS Senior Adjunct Fellow; and CAPT Mike Martinez, Senior Military Fellow at CNAS, United States Navy. They will discuss what national mobilization could mean for today’s military and national security policy. We look forward to your participation in this discussion.
