Findings will include whether women should register for Selective Service and comprehensive plan for growing service to meet critical national needs
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service will hold a press conference call to announce findings from its final report, Inspired to Serve, on March 25 at 9:30 a.m. featuring remarks from Chairman Joe Heck, Vice Chairs Debra Wada and Mark Gearan, and Members of Congress.
For the first time in American history, Congress charged the Commission with reviewing the Selective Service System, along with military, national, and public service. After two and half years of extensive research, a nationwide listening tour, public hearings, and conversations with the American public, the Commission will announce its findings and recommendations to Congress and the President on the future of the Selective Service System and how to cultivate a culture of service. The Commission’s report contains a bold vision and comprehensive plan for growing service in the United States to address critical national security and domestic needs, expand economic and educational opportunities, and strengthen American democracy.
