The Commission has developed a comprehensive plan to listen and learn from the American people. From January to December 2018, we traveled across the nation. We held public meetings, engaged in small group discussions, conducted interviews, and extensively researched previous work on these topics. We also heard from thousands of Americans who shared ideas and experiences directly with the Commission. All of this valuable input is critical to our ability to develop recommendations on the Selective Service System and ways to increase participation in military, national, and public service.
After compiling interim findings and producing our Interim Report in January 2019, the Commission is exploring potential policy options through public hearings. The Commission is committed to hearing from experts and the public on any aspect of the Commission's mission. Click here to provide a public comment.
The Commission plans to issue two reports. On January 23, 2019, the Commission released its Interim Report. Download the Interim Report here. Stay tuned for the release of the Final Report in March 2020.
The Commission will host fourteen public hearings on policy options we are considering for the Final Report. Two weeks in advance of each hearing, the Commission will release a staff memo outlining policy options under consideration for each hearing theme. More information can be found here.
