Comprehensive plan with 164 recommendations would expand Selective Service to women, invest in civic education, reform federal hiring, and grow national service

Today, on Patriot Day, the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service remembers the innocent lives lost, the bravery of those who responded, and the remarkable spirit of unity and compassion that swept the country in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks eighteen years ago. In honoring the victims, first responders, and citizens who stood up to serve our nation, Commissioners joined millions of Americans and participated in the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance.
