On June 20, 2019, the Commission will host Creating an Expectation of Service Hearing: An Infrastructure to Serve America. This hearing will explore how the government can develop or encourage an expectation of service in America, through a federally-run system designed to connect them with military, national, and public service organizations and opportunities.
On June 20, 2019, the Commission will host Creating an Expectation of Service Hearing: Civic Education and Service in Schools. This hearing will explore creating a culture of service through expanding and enhancing civic education across the country and including service in school curriculum. 
On May 16, 2019, the Commission will host Military Service Hearing: Increasing Awareness among Young Americans and Lessening the Civil-Military Divide. This hearing will explore how the nation can create more awareness of military service, particularly among young Americans, and how to lessen the divide between the military community and society. 
On May 16, 2019, the Commission will host Military Service Hearing: Creating New Pipelines to Service and Fostering Critical Skills. This hearing will address the challenges to recruiting and retaining critical skills and talent under the military’s current personnel management system and discuss options to create new pathways to military service.
On May 15, 2019, the Commission will host two hearings focused on public service—specifically, civilian employment in federal, state, local, and tribal governments. The afternoon hearing, Public Service Hearing: Critical Skills and Benefits, will address special workforce challenges in high-demand fields—such as cybersecurity, IT, health care, and STEM—as well as the competitiveness of employee benefits, and explore options to attract and retain civil servants with critical skills. 
On May 15, 2019, the Commission will host two hearings focusing on public service—specifically, civilian employment in federal, state, local, and tribal governments. The morning hearing, Public Service Hearing: Improving Basic Hiring Processes, will address challenges within current civil service personnel systems and discuss options to bring the next generation of talented Americans to public service. 
On April 25, 2019, the Commission will host Should Registration be Expanded to All Americans? – Arguments for Expansion. This hearing will address the potential needs for a voluntary or compulsory mobilization for all Americans.
On April 25, 2019, the Commission will host Selective Service Hearing: Should Registration be Expanded to All Americans? – Arguments against Expansion. This hearing will address the case for continuing to restrict registration to men only.
On April 24, 2019, the Commission will host Selective Service Hearing: How to Meet Potential National Mobilization Needs. This hearing will address who will be needed to respond to national security emergencies and how we find and integrate them into military organizations and structures.
On April 24, 2019, the Commission will host Selective Service Hearing: Future Mobilization Needs of the Nation. This hearing will address the potential needs for a voluntary or compulsory mobilization.
